Project Timeline

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Walletgyde is a fintech platform that connects users with financial advisors through a matchmaking system. My task was to redesign their current UI for the matchmaking prototype to improve usability and accessibility. Additionally, I was responsible for optimizing the transition from the desktop experience to a seamless mobile interface.

USER RESEARCH AND PAIN POINT ANALYSIS

To ensure my design decisions were data-driven, I conducted a thorough research process that involved analyzing previous user research data and survey results, conducting discussions with Walletgyde's former UI/UX designers to understand past design decisions, and performing personal user testing with family and friends to identify additional usability issues. The Survey garnered 14 respondents. Despite the small testing pool, we were given highly detailed responses, which I

synthesized below.

The existing typography lacked hierarchy, making it difficult for users to scan and comprehend content.

The UI relied heavily on restrictive card formats, leading to a cluttered and inefficient user flow.

The calendar interface lacked clear guidance, making appointment scheduling frustrating.

Users struggled to navigate between financial coach profiles, leading to engagement drop-offs.

The desktop UI elements did not translate well to mobile screens, resulting in usability issues.

KEY FINDINGS

SOLUTIONS

ENHANCED CALENDAR NAVIGATION

To simplify the scheduling interface, I implemented a step-by-step selection process. I also introduced clear CTA buttons for different actions (e.g., "Confirm Appointment", and "Reschedule") and added a progress indicator to guide users through the

scheduling process.

FINANCIAL COACH PROFILE NAVIGATION

For better profile browsing, I designed a swipeable card interface for mobile, allowing users to browse coach profiles effortlessly. I implemented filtering options for users to refine their search based on expertise, availability, and ratings. Additionally, I improved profile layouts to highlight key advisor information at a glance.

OUTCOMES

This redesign project for Walletgyde was a great opportunity to enhance both web and mobile usability. By focusing on typography, navigation, and mobile-first design, I was able to deliver a more seamless and engaging experience for users. Moving forward, Walletgyde can further refine its user flows through additional usability testing and iterative

design improvements.
